Can I have a bouncy castle in the hall

Bouncy castles need to be authorised before using inside or outside of the hall. You will need to obtain the relevant insurance certificate from the hirer and sign an acceptance form for all liability. The New Hall is more suitable for larger bouncy castles

How high are ceilings in the halls
Can I view the hall before booking

Yes, get in touch by text message or email and we shall arrange a mutually convenient time for you to see the hall

Can I book the hall to play badminton for an hour

Yes, the New Hall has a badminton court marked on it and there are badminton nets for you to set up. You will need to provide your own shuttlecocks and racquets

How do I get into the hall for my booking

When you book the hall you will be sent a user manual that includes instructions on how to unlock the hall. There is a key safe by each entrance and you will be given the code to unlock the key safe in advance of your booking. Please return the key after your booking, having locked up the hall

Is there a bar at the hall

No, there is no bar at the hall. If you are holding an event and selling alcohol then you will need a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) as the hall is unlicensed

Is there a music licence

No, the hall does not have a music licence. You can play music at parties for family and friends but for events where people pay for tickets you must have your own music licence to play music

Can I play music late at night

The hall is in a residential area so we ask that you are considerate. Music must not be played after 11.30pm and you should have left after clearing up by midnight.

Can I have balloons at my party

If you have balloons at your party then you must ensure that Balloon Shine is not used on them – the silicon spray transfers onto the floor and makes it dangerously slippery for you and also for people using the hall after you

Can I decorate the hall for my party

Yes you can, but please be considerate. Don’t use anything that might damage the paintwork and make sure that you leave the hall as you found it, no pieces of sellotape etc left behind stuck on the windows

How do I pay my invoice

Please pay by bank transfer if possible. The account details will be on your invoice. Use the invoice number as the reference so we know who has paid

What is available in the kitchen

The kitchen is used by both halls. It has 2 hot water heaters for hot drinks, a commercial dishwasher that, when heated up, can perform a wash in about 10 minutes, and an oven with an induction hob. There are cups and saucers, glasses and plates that you can use but you need to bring your own cooking equipment such as saucepans, baking trays, tea clothes and hand towels. There is no cutlery – bring your own knife to cut the birthday cake. There is a fridge in the store room which can be used if you provide 24 hours notice

Are there tables and chairs I can use

There are around 80 chairs, 17 large tables and 10 smaller tables in total – if you want to use more than half of this number then please let the booking secretary know when you make your provisional booking.
